Sketchbook November 2025-August 2026

Uploaded on August 12, 2026

I have recently finished my sketchbook that Danielle gifted to me in November 2025. She also got me these great paint markers in yellow, red, green, blue, and black that I used extensively throughout the notebook.

During this time I lived in San Francisco and Chicago and did a lot of drawing during my travels on planes, cars, rest stops, waiting around at bars.

Some of the pages have fallen out, a bunch fell out while I was scanning and pulling back the binding.

I've done more drawing than just this, I've done a fair amount of larger paintings and have used other sketchbooks during this time as well, but this is the one I would throw in my bag and bring places.

Anyways, here's every page of my sketchbook.

The front of the sketchbook. Beat up, rained on, coffee spilled on it, ink spilled on it, wrote my name on it in Bombay Beach when I got scared that I would lose it. I hoped that if I did that someone would Google me, find my website, email me, and coordinate with me to get the sketchbook back into my hands. Luckily that never happened.

This is a loose piece of paper thrown into the front of the book. Drawn on a plane from sfo to MCI (Kansas City)

All of this "pips" stuff is from a failed experiment to make a version of pips (NYT game) on my website. I kind of want to try it again though, it was really close to working.

Drawn inside of this coffee shop in the Marina in SF. This guy came over and looked at it and said "Very intense" and I said "thank you"

I like this Ben Davis drawing a lot, it makes people laugh when they see it.

"The End", the cat walking with earmuffs, and the woman smiling (my mom) are from testing stuff out for this zine book thing I gave my mom for Christmas called "The Story of Melon" about her cat Melon that sadly passed.

I sent this picture to my friend Kieran and he said "Me"

I think this is the first "spread" I did (there is an image that is above this but that is thrown in), I was influenced by this youtube video (which also exposed me to the band "ear".) After seeing this video I became unafraid to run over into the next page which made using this sketchbook much easier and allowed the images to be more dynamic.

I like how this came out, I tried something new using charcoal and pencil and it came out pretty good.

Made in Palm Springs over new years. The phone was inspired by my friend Electra saying that she wanted to sleep with her phone outside of her room in the new year (so that she could get better sleep), so I drew a phone named "My Phone Outside", and some other stuff too.

This seems to be most people's favorite drawing in the book. Drawn inside of a bar in SF while waiting for an event at tiat to start. Didn't take any time, I guess the composition / colors are satisfying somehow. I don't like it that much

Apparently this is a "Nathan for You" sketch. Whoops I thought it was original (I had definitely seen that short before making this)

This is my favorite thing in the sketchbook.

I stand by what the guy is saying, this is the worst thing in the sketchbook.

Not thought out social commentary, guy in Amazon mines imagining winning 40 bucks on FanDuel. Once I had thought about it more I didn't like the idea anymore so I stopped working on it.

Yea

Experiments while developing characters on Danielles vase

This marks being back in Chicago mid April. I used some of Alex's paint markers on the lady and the bug.

Made at Jonah's house.

Some math stuff from doing the online community college math test.

Trying out some ideas for my cartoon that's in the Marshfield mini gallery.

This was done by Alex while driving from Detroit to Grand Rapids late July.
